Joyce Ellis and Olivia Thorne have been in business together for more than 10 years. Before that they were both very involved with computers in the nonprofit world. Joyce wrote for a newspaper and was a professional photographer. Olivia was a nurse and political activist. Joyce started using a computer in the early 70's and Olivia owned her first computer in 1981. They have taken numerous computer courses and fervently believe that everyone can learn to use a computer, if taught one-on-one.

Both have a long and rich history helping nonprofits become computer literate, create databases for membership and fund development, and find inexpensive computer solutions so they could work more efficiently. Olivia is currently the webmaster for the League of Women Voters of PA and serves on the national board of the League of Women Voters as their Technology Director. Joyce is currently the Treasurer of Media Fellowship House and helped organize the QuickBooks® system that tracks grant money for their Home First Project and Writing Workshop Project as part of their overall bookkeeping system. Both take great joy in helping new business get inexpensively set up and help them create simple web pages so they can also have an Internet presence.

Computer Mentors, Inc. works with several hardware and Internet providers so that they can provide full service to all of their clients.
